Description
This Ireland vacation cottage looks out to Galway Bay, the oyster catchers in their boats and
the ruins of an ancient castle.
This highly recommended but secluded spot, lies undisturbed in a serene Irish country setting.
Each
morning is a fresh
awakening to the sight of the deep blue sea and the softness of the countryside around you.
The northern light weaves and filters through the sky, shifting appearances swiftly as the day slowly moves on. You adjust to the quiet; but then
the sounds of nature whisper past your ear and it is at that point
exactly,
as you lean over the gate and look out at nothing in particular beyond the
manless hills, that you feel it. And that 'it' is what you came here for.
The front of this Ireland vacation cottage is literally a stones throw from the
sea. If you are brave you can refresh yourself in the Atlantic water and return
refreshed to our Ireland vacation rental.
The cottage's 300 year history has seen strong lives here; deep
resilience & 3ft deep uneven walls gently supporting all. Everyone comes away
touched by Cave. Artists,
honeymooners and families with scrambling wild eyed children describe to us how
they
felt so at home, at Cave, here in County Galway.
Enter into the cozy living room to the ancient hearth and relax on the
overstuffed couch. The roaring fire - the central point to chat around, play or
meditate by; warms you. Local antiques in simple rustic beauty, the
handmade kitchen with everything you need to cook & prepare or just the Irish
crystal to drink a good bottle, are there for you. A solid bed in the master
bedroom and a soft comforter waits for your eyelids to gently close. Look
around, hardly a thing has changed in this thatch, one of the last of its kind
in Ireland; still full of charm & simplicity. Tiny stairs lead to more
beds & rest- a loft framed by a square cut window.
Though only twenty minutes from Galway City, it's a quiet farming community (no
signposts and a dead end help that). Empty green fields on both sides and a
trickle of front traffic half made up by sheep and the odd brisk stroller. The
sounds have the purity of the country: birds, the lapping sea, a few cows with
the hushing sound of the wind. Inside, the thick walls keep a lot of the outside
where it should be. You'll be comfortable too, with a turf burning stove and
central heating - if you don't feel like striking a match
